ketchup exists to get you on a phone call with your close friends. it works by knowing
when you're free โ which is exactly why it's built to know as little else as possible.
your location never leaves your phone
- geofence checks (like "am i home yet?") run entirely on your device, using Apple's on-device region monitoring.
- the only thing ever sent to our server is the result: "free for N minutes" or "not free." never a coordinate, never a place name.
- every location read is listed in an in-app transparency log you can inspect: timestamp, reason, and what (if anything) was sent.
- friends see your availability ("free for 45 min") โ never your location.
what the server does store
- if you join the waitlist: the email address or phone number you typed, and when. nothing else.
- if you use the app: your name, phone number, invite code, who your ketchup friends are, your availability windows, and a device token so we can send you the "Ketchup? ๐
" push.
- match events: that a bet/nah happened, so the call can be set up. calls themselves are regular cellular calls โ we're not on them and can't be.
what we will never do
- no selling or sharing your data. no ads, no trackers, no analytics SDKs on this site or in the app.
- no spam: the waitlist gets one ping when it's your turn. that's the whole marketing plan.
deleting your data
ask, and it's gone โ waitlist entry, account, everything. email
mamalanand3@gmail.com from the address (or with the number) you signed up with.
who's behind this
ketchup is made by Amal โ one person,
not a data company. questions, doubts, feelings: mamalanand3@gmail.com.
