we should totally catch up soon!! yess omg 100% β€” soon!! β€” you and your best friend, four months ago. nothing happened.

your phone rings when you're both actually free.

ketchup quietly notices when you and a close friend are both genuinely free right now, then sends each of you one notification: Ketchup? πŸ… both tap bet β€” and you're on a real phone call. no scheduling, no links, no "sorry just saw this."

how it works

three steps. zero planning.

01

set one rule

like "i'm usually free 30 min after i get home." your phone watches for it on-device β€” no polling, no tracking, and you never open the app.

02

you're both free β†’ one ping

when you and a friend are both in a free window, you each get one notification: Ketchup? πŸ… bet / nah. that's the entire interface.

03

both tap bet β†’ the call happens

ketchup sets it up: one green button, and your actual phone is dialing theirs. a real cellular call β€” not a link, not another app to open.

zero pressure, by design

"nah" is a full sentence.

the reason you never call people isn't that you don't love them. it's that calling out of the blue feels like an ambush β€” for both of you. ketchup only ever asks when you're both free, and saying no is invisible.

  • ✦tap nah, nothing happens. your friend is never told. no "seen 2h ago." no guilt.
  • ✦no cold calls, ever. a ketchup only fires when you're both in a free window you confirmed.
  • ✦close friends only. it's invite-code only. this is for your top 5, not your followers.
privacy receipts

an app that knows when you're home should show its work.

the "you're home" check runs entirely on your phone β€” the server only ever hears "free" or "not free," never a location. and every single location read is listed in an in-app audit trail, with the reason. friends see "free for 45 min" β€” never where you are. the actual privacy policy is one page, written in english.

the audit trail every user sees β€” every location read, listed, with the reason. we built this screen before we built the app icon.
